Girl v. Boy

Authors: Yvonne Collins and Sandy Rideout

Lucia and her friends try to avoid anything that has to do with school spirit. So when her English teacher ropes her into doing an anonymous column for the school newspaper where she has to attend these such events her first impulse is to say no. Then she changes her mind because she needs something like this for her college applications. Her first job is to cover the high school's newest fundraiser where the boys compete against the girls to see who can make more money. Luisa provides the female point of view while someone else provides the male. Along the way the column becomes a battle between girls and boys. Luisa is determined to win even though she might risk her relationship. I loved this book and found myself trying to guess who Snoop was along with Luisa and was surprised when she found out.
